Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 September 2026
This policy explains what StoryKeek collects, what it does not collect, and what happens to the little that passes through. It covers storykeek.com and every tool on it.
What we do not collect
- No accounts. There is nothing to register for, so we hold no names, emails or passwords.
- No Snapchat credentials. We never ask for them and there is no field on the site that accepts them.
- No search history tied to you. The usernames you look up are not stored against a visitor.
- No selling of data, because there is no personal data set to sell.
What is processed when you use the tool
When you submit a username, our server requests that public profile from Snapchat and passes the result back to your browser. The username is used to make that request and is not written to a profile about you. Short lived caching may hold a public profile for a few minutes so repeat requests are faster, and that cache holds public content only.
Like any web server we record standard request logs, which can include an IP address, the time of the request, the page and the browser user agent. These are used to keep the service running and to spot abuse, and they are deleted on a rolling basis.
Storage in your browser
We use local storage for one thing: remembering whether you chose light or dark mode. It stays on your device, is not sent to us and is not readable by anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Analytics and advertising
We may use a privacy respecting analytics tool to count page views and understand which pages are used. Where advertising is shown, ad partners may set their own cookies and process data under their own policies, which we do not control. Your browser settings and any consent banner shown to you govern that.
Content shown on the site
StoryKeek displays content that a Snapchat account has already published publicly. We do not host that content permanently and we do not build archives of it. If a profile is yours and you want it blocked, use the profile removal page.
Children
The site is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Because we do not hold personal accounts, there is usually nothing to export or delete. If you are in the UK, EU or another region with data rights and you believe we hold information about you, write to [email protected] and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.
